Lloyd, Raffaelli lead returning group for 2026-27

The Cardiff Canucks have secured the return of several key players as the roster for the 2026-27 season continues to take shape.

Forwards Return

Carter Lloyd (#72) and Giacomo Raffaelli (#9) both return for another season. Raffaelli, the two-time Players' Player winner, brings recognized leadership to the group, while Lloyd showed strong form toward the end of last season.

"I'm very pleased to welcome Carter and Giacomo back for another season," said Coach Hendrikx. "Giacomo has earned recognition as the team's Players' Player over the past two years, a reflection of both his performance and his leadership within the group. Carter had a strong finish toward the end of last season, particularly in the final few games, and I look forward to seeing him build on that momentum and deliver a strong offensive campaign this year."

With both forwards boasting a strong 2025-26 season, the Canucks are excited to see them back on the ice this coming September.

Lewis Hallewell (#64) returns for his third year with the club. As a top U19 performer, Hallewell will once again lead up front on the attack.

"We're excited to welcome Lew back for another season," said Hendrikx. "As he enters his third year with the club, we believe he is poised for a breakout campaign. Last season, we entrusted him with increased responsibility—particularly in the latter stages of the year—and were extremely impressed with the maturity and composure he showed in handling those opportunities."

Versatile Group Returns

Iwan Davies, Henry Callaghan and Ben Smith also return for the 2026-27 season. All three players had hugely successful seasons and are ready to bring it once again.

"We are delighted to have all three returning for next season," noted Hendrikx. "Henry Callaghan is coming off an impressive rookie campaign, during which he earned Most Improved Player honours. Iwan possesses a powerful shot, consistently presenting a significant offensive threat. He also brings valuable versatility and experience to the team, with the ability to perform effectively in both forward and defensive roles. Ben has been a consistent and composed presence throughout the season, providing reliability and strength on the back end and chipping in offensively when he can."

With the roster continuing to take shape, Cardiff fans can look forward to seeing a blend of experience, young talent, and proven performers taking the ice for the 2026-27 campaign.
