Ford, Thompson and Rose re-sign as prospects earn contracts

The Cardiff Canucks' commitment to youth development remains a cornerstone of the club's philosophy, with the return of key young players and the promotion of two prospects to signed status for the 2026-27 season.

Young Core Returns

Jaydon Ford (Forward), Ollie Thompson (Goaltender) and Harvey Rose (Defenseman) all return for their third season with the club. As part of the original Canucks group, they've played an important role in building the foundation of the team.

"We're excited to welcome all three of these players back for their third season," said Coach Hendrikx. "As part of our original Canucks group, they've played an important role in building the foundation of this team, and we're incredibly proud of the progress each of them has made over the past few years. We're expecting strong seasons from all three and look forward to seeing them back on the ice soon."

Ford, Rose and Thompson will once again be a force to be reckoned with after such a successful 2025-26 season for each of the players.

Prospects Earn Signed Status

Cam Bartlett and Riley Sheldon have officially transitioned from prospect to signed status after spending the 2025-26 season training and working hard with the team.

"Cam and Riley have now completed a full season with our program, gaining valuable experience and a strong understanding of what it means to be a Canuck," explained Hendrikx. "It's encouraging to see our prospect development system thriving and effectively supporting players in their transition to the senior level. Both players have demonstrated that they are ready and capable of earning a spot this season, and we are excited to welcome them back for the 2026–27 season."

Having soaked up all the expertise offered while demonstrating the expected dedication and commitment to join the 2026-27 roster, Bartlett and Sheldon represent the next generation of Canucks talent.

The continued emphasis on developing young players ensures the Canucks maintain a strong pipeline of talent while building for sustained success in the seasons ahead.
